Eugene Jacob Luettinger, 82, of Trenton, died Saturday, March 3, 2012 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Mr. Luettinger was born April 14, 1929 in Summerfield to Erwin and Frieda (Schildknecht) Luettinger; they preceded him in death.
Also preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Mildred L. Luettinger.
He married Dorothy Bayer on July 16, 1955 at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Lebanon; she survives in Trenton.
Also surviving is a brother, Delmar Luettinger of Summerfield.
Eugene retired as a tool designer and laborer from Kettler Tool and Dye in Belleville.
He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Summerfield, Laborer’s Local 670 in Belleville, and was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War.
Graveside Services will be Thursday, March 8, 2012 at 11:30 AM at the Summerfield Cemetery in Summerfield with Rev. Donald Wagner officiating.
Memorials can be made to the Summerfield Cemetery Association and will be received through Moss Funeral Home in Trenton who is in charge of the arrangements.
