Curt L. Wilkinson

Curt L. Wilkinson, age 58, of Breese, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2019 at SSM St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, MO.

He was born March 16, 1961 in Highland.

Curt married Colleen Detmer on January 23, 1982 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese and she preceded him in death on March 3, 2011.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Donald Detmer.

Surviving are his parents, Suzanne, nee Koberczky, and Edward Hilbert of Highland; children, Jessica (Steven) Tobin of Tonganoxie, KS and Sean Wilkinson of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Annabelle, Aidan, and Tripp Tobin and Chloe and Kolten Wilkinson; siblings, Dirk (significant other Kelly Tubbs) Wilkinson of Highland, Scott (JoAnn) Hilbert of Carlyle, and Lisa (Jody) Johnson of Hebron, KY; mother-in-law, Mary Ellen, nee Ratermann, Detmer of Breese; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Neil (Amanda) Detmer of Bartelso, Anita (Ward) Johnson of Walnut Creek, CA, Joyce (Dean) Kniepmann of New Baden, Denise (Dennis) Luitjohan of Damiansville, and Lisa (Sam) Skinner of San Marcos, CA; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Curt was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and recently retired from the Illinois Department of Corrections in Centralia where he worked as a prison guard. He enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be Monday, September 30, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese with Deacon Linus Klostermann officiating.

Visitation will be Monday, September 30, 2019 from 4:00-7:30 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
