Steve J. Voss, age 61, of St. Rose, passed away Friday, November 13, 2020 at HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon.
He was born August 14, 1959 in Belleville, the son of Leonard and Elizabeth “Betty”, nee Rakers, Voss of Beaver Prairie.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife Tina, nee Wellen, Voss of St. Rose, whom he married November 26, 1981 at St. Rose Catholic Church; children, Ryan (Kara) Voss of St. Rose, Alicia (Craig) Petermeyer of St. Rose, and Whitney (Travis) Koerkenmeier of Carlyle; grandchildren, Sophia and Farrah Voss, Landon and Isabella Petermeyer, Evelyn and Piper Koerkenmeier; siblings, Karen (Jeff) Christ of Breese, Sharon (Gene) Bickl of St. Rose, Lauri (Kevin) Pollmann of Breese, Michelle (Randy) Buehne of St. Rose, Russell (Angie) Voss of Germantown, Julie (Doug) Beckemeyer of Breese, Matthew (Holle) Voss of Bartelso, Amy (Karl) Abert of Breese, and Chad (Tara) Voss of Carlyle; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bernard and Mary, nee Kohlbrecher, Wellen of St. Rose; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Russ (Shelley) Wellen and Dale (Stacey) Wellen all of Highland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Steve was preceded in death by a brother, Klinten Voss; and a nephew, Brayden Voss.
Steve was the former plant manager for CSI in Waterloo and was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church. He enjoyed horseback riding, all animals, chicken sales, but above all spending time with his wife and children, and especially his grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 18, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese. (masks are required at the visitation)
A private family funeral mass will be held at St Dominic Catholic Church in Breese.
Memorials may be made to Gateway Area National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Mater Dei Catholic High School or St. Rose Catholic Church and will be received at the funeral home or by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th, Breese, IL 62230
