Gerald H. “Jerry” Wellen 67 of St. Rose died Thursday May 17, 2012 at his home.

He was born April 23, 1945 in Aviston, IL to Henry and Christine (Rolves) Wellen: they preceded him in death.

Also preceded in death by sisters Jane Alice Wellen and Eunice Schiefer, father-in-law Lawrence Holtmann.

He married Pat Holtmann November 27, 1971 at St. Boniface Church, Germantown and she survives in St. Rose.

Also surviving are his children Derek (Barb) Wellen of Highland, Denise (Jason) Ollerton of Livingston, Tyler Wellen of Florissant, MO.

2 grandchildren Drew and Cadence Wellen.

Brothers and sister Julia (Floyd Warmann) Von Wellen of St. Louis, MO Bernell (Mary) Wellen of St. Rose, Alfred (Sue) Wellen of Highland, Ron (Debi) Wellen of Trenton, Kenny (Peggy) Wellen of Breese.

Mother-in-law Mildred Holtmann of Germantown

Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Bob Schiefer of Aviston, Donna (Jim) Friederich of Chandler, TX, Elaine (Mike) Cooper of St. Louis, Stan (Denise) Holtmann of Breese.

Jerry was retired communication technician with AT&T.

Member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Pocahontas American Legion Post 1104, St. Rose Horse Shoe Team and Dairy King Golf Team.

Funeral Mass Tuesday May 22, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Rose Catholic Church with Fr. Edward Schaefer officiating. Interment St. Rose Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday May 21, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Tuesday May 22 from 8:30 to 10:30 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

Memorials can be made to American Cancer Association or Donor’s Choice and will be received at the funeral home.
