Steve E. Morgan, age 73, of Carlyle, passed away Monday, March 8, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born May 14, 1947 in Elizabethtown, KY, a son of the late Austin and Anna, nee LoBue, Morgan.

He is survived by his children, Kalvin (Trisha Figura) Morgan of Ashley, and Valerie (fiancé Kris Darby) Morgan of Carlyle; his granddaughter, Annalee R. Morgan; and his sister, Kay (Dave) Langenhorst of Germantown.

Steve was a veteran of the United States Army where he was part of the 82nd Airborne Division during the Vietnam War.  He later retired from Timken Rail Bearing Services in Carlyle and he was also a part of Chakota Therapeutic Riding Center in Germantown from the beginning.  He was a life member of the Carlyle VFW Post #3523 and he enjoyed art, bird watching, fishing, camping, and had a love for automobiles.

Graveside services will be held Monday, March 22, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Boniface Cemetery in Germantown with Fr. James Buerster officiating with full military honors accorded.

In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to the wishes of the family and checks payable to Kalvin Morgan and will be received at the service or by mail to Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th, Breese, IL 62230.
