    Philip M. Crouch, age 64, of New Baden, passed away Friday, February 20, 2026, at his home. He was born April 19, 1961, at the Francis E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming, a son of Henrietta (nee Spreitler) Crouch of Trenton and the late Elmer Crouch, MSgt., USAF, Retired.

     

    In addition to his mother, Philip is survived by his children, Jennifer (John) Buhmann of Lebanon, Sandra Crouch of New Baden, and Justin Crouch of New Baden; and brothers, Edward Crouch of Colorado, Rosemary McIntire of Aviston, Joseph (Susan) Crouch of Arnold, MO, Gary Crouch of Trenton, and Jerry (Heidi) Crouch of Barnhart, MO.

     

    Philip married Angelika (nee Ascherl) Crouch on January 21, 1988, in Furth im Wald, Germany and she preceded him in death on March 22, 2020. In addition to his father and wife, Philip was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Josef Johann and Franziska (nee Kaufmann) Ascherl and sister-in-law, Karin Ascherl.

     

    Philip proudly served his country in the United States Army and was honorable discharged with the rank of Sergeant. After his military service, he remained a dedicated worker in several civilian roles. He was a valued member of New Baden American Legion Post 321. In his leisure time, he found great enjoyment in gardening, restoring classic cars, watching science fiction shows, and unwinding with a cold beer.

     

    A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO with full military honors accorded.

     

    Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.

     

    In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to the wishes of the family (checks payable to Jennifer Buhmann) and will be received at the visitation or by mail at Moss Funeral Home, 105 S. Main St. Trenton, IL 62293, who is serving the family.
