    Albert G. “Tossie” Becker, 81, of Germantown, died Friday, January 13, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese.

    Mr. Becker was born November 6, 1930 in Bartelso to Henry B. and Cecilia (Jansen) Becker; they preceded him in death.

    He married Mary Ann Wolters on September 23, 1953 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston; she preceded him in death on May 21, 2005.

    In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers, William “Bill” Becker and Bob Thien; a sister, Mary Ann Rakers; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, William “Bill’ Haar, Sylvia Becker, Laura Thien, Edward Wolters, Henrietta and Ed Beckmann, Sally and Bud Barth, Edna and Otto Rosen, Bernard Wolters, Victor Wolters, Wilbert and Rosanne Wolters, Ray and Trudy Wolters, and Dot Wolters.

    Surviving are his children, Judith Becker of Germantown, Debbie (David) Hegger of Aviston, Ron “Emmitt” (Denise “Vera”) Becker of Germantown, and Allan (Linda) Becker of Germantown; 7 grandchildren, Ryan Hegger, Morgan Hegger, Brent Becker, Brandon Becker, Eric Becker, Erin (Edward) Kehrer, and Brad Becker; a special friend, Marlene Robben of Germantown; brothers and sisters, Ray Becker of Bartelso, Florence (Paul) Dierkes of Germantown, Lucille (Frank) Kampwerth of Carlyle, Herman Becker of Bartelso, Don “Diesel” Becker of Bartelso, Barb (Bob) Robke of Germantown, Richard (Pat) Becker of Bartelso, Toni (George) Litzenburg of Carlyle, and Johanna Haar of Albers; brothers-in-law, Andy Rakers of Beckemeyer and Otto Wolters of Aviston; sisters-in-law, Jeanne Wolters of Albers and Helen Wolters of Breese; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    Tossie along with his wife Mary Ann were the founders and co-owners of Germantown Egg Co., was a Veteran of the United States Army, and was an avid card player.

    He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and Men’s Sodality in Germantown, current treasurer of the Germantown American Legion Post 325, Breese Knights of Columbus Council 2869 and 4th Degree Bishop Althoff Assembly, Germantown Business and Professional Association, Germantown Community Development, Mater Dei Fathers and Friends, former member of the Illinois Egg Board, former member of the Germantown Park Board, chaired the Germantown Spassfest breakfast since its inception, and he was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels in Germantown.

    Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 11:00 am at St. Boniface Catholic Church with Fr. Jim Buerster officiating. Interment will be in St. Boniface Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the Germantown American Legion Post 325.

    Visitation will be Monday, January 16, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 pm and again on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 from 9:00-10:30 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown.

    Memorials can be made to Mater Dei High School and will be received at the funeral home.

    The Germantown American Legion will hold services at 7:00 pm and the 4th Degree Bishop Althoff Assembly will hold services at 7:30 pm all Monday evening at the funeral home.
