Full Obituary
Alice D. Niebur, age 92, of Mt. Vernon and formerly of St. Louis, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2020.

She was born January 14, 1928 in Breese, the daughter of the late Otto and Frances, nee Holtgrave, Markus.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Stanley Niebur, whom she married November 28, 1946 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese and who died March 31, 2010; and 7 siblings.

Surviving are her children, Susan (Hugh) Lam of Mt. Vernon, Elizabeth (Jim) Harris of Coal Valley, James Niebur of St. Louis, and Lynn (Dave) Mutch of St. Louis; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ruth Ann (Dan) Gieseler of Metairie, LA, Rosemary (Ken) Huber of Hot Springs, AR, and Thomas (Ann) Markus of Willowbrook.

Alice was homemaker and a former member of St. Gerard Majella in St. Louis. She enjoyed reading, bird watching, and tending to her flowers.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Patrick Peter presiding. Interment will follow in St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 7, 2020 from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice and will be received at the church or through Moss Funeral Home in Breese who is serving the family.
