    Anna Jo Ann Alberternst, age 84, of St. Rose, IL, departed this life peacefully to be with her heavenly Father on January 11, 2024, at Trenton Village in Trenton, IL surrounded by the care, warmth and love of her devoted family. Anna was born in St. Rose, IL on December 30, 1939, a daughter of the late George H. and Josephine, nee Wilke, Kampwerth. She was preceded in death by her loving husband William Alberternst whom she married in St. Rose Catholic Church on January 7, 1961 and who passed away on August 6, 2011.

     

    In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her beloved siblings, Emmy Kampwerth, Netty (Rich) Kapp, Sr. Georgia Kampwerth, Sr. Rita Kampwerth, George B. (Dorothy) Kampwerth; brother-in-law, Wilbert (Butch) Jansen; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Loretta (Vernon) Noll, Josephine (Wayne) Gutzler, Esther (Frank) Seitz, Dorothy (Conrad) Stone, Nora Pat (Robert) Lang, Eva (Larry) Odor, James (Pat) Alberternst, Mary (Alan) Loeh, and Daniel Alberternst.

     

    Surviving are her loving, devoted daughters, Melinda (Kevin) Dall of Germantown, IL, Michelle (Jeff) Petermeyer of Aviston, IL, Milissa (Allen) Faust of Aviston, IL, and Marsha (Peter) Maller of Troy, IL; nine grandchildren, Annie (Dante) Yokley, Will Dall, Mallory (Chris) Korte, Jared (Ashley) Petermeyer, Joseph Petermeyer, Ryan (Sarah) Faust, Alyssa (fiancé, Jake Fairchild) Faust, Sarah (fiancé, John Cosgrove) Maller, and Rachel Maller; nine great-grandchildren, Madyson, Wyatt, Waylon and Melody Korte, James and Michael Petermeyer, Evelyn, Clare and Bria Faust; one sister, Jane Jansen; and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews and cousins.

     

    Anna graduated from St. Rose Grade School in 1954 and Aviston High School in 1958. She was the co-owner of Alberternst Construction Inc which she started in 1972 with her husband and partner in life William until its closing after 50 years in 2022. Anna was also the former co-owner with her husband William of A&W Equipment of St. Rose, IL. until 2010. Anna loved to travel with her family and friends and visited 49 of the 50 states except Delaware. She enjoyed listening to music and could play the coronet and sing. She also enjoyed baking, crocheting, watching football, and playing candy crush. Her greatest joy was her family which she so loved and cherished and had immense pride. She loved spending time with her family hosting and attending the many lake house and farm weekends, holiday parties, birthday parties, graduations, plays, concerts, dance recitals and sporting events of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to decorate for the holidays especially Christmas with multiple trees and nativity sets. Anna was a devout Catholic who generously supported the church and the catholic schools her children and grandchildren attended. In her later years, she spent many hours watching EWTN Catholic television, praying the rosary, and corporal works of mercy.

     

    Anna was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in St. Rose, IL. She was a past St. Rose Parish Trustee, past member of the St. Rose Ladies Sodality, St. Rose Parish Council, St. Rose School's Parent's Organization, and St. Rose Choir.

     

    Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church in St. Rose with Fr. Edward Schaefer presiding.  Interment will follow at St. Rose Cemetery.

     

    Visitation will be Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 8:30 – 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church in St. Rose.

     

    Memorials may be made to St. Rose Parish and will be received at the visitation or by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th St. Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
