Arlene Elizabeth Berry, age 75, of Carlyle, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born August 17, 1943 in Breese, the daughter of Walter and Wilma, nee Holthaus, Laux.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Jerry B. Berry, whom she married August 26, 1961 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Carlyle and who died November 16, 2014; son-in-law, Reid Pontius; a brother, Richard Laux; and a nephew, Gene Rakers.
Surviving are her daughter, Elizabeth (significant other Frankie Dunn) Pontius of Orlando, FL; a sister, Diane (Gary) Meyer of Carlyle; and a sister-in-law, Lill Laux of Carlyle.
Arlene was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Carlyle. She enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens, and especially going to the beach when she visited her daughter in Florida.
All services are private.
Memorials may be made to Vitas Hospice and will be received through Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th, Breese, IL 62230 who is serving the Berry family.
