Audrey L. Johnson

Audrey L. Johnson, age 88, of Breese, passed away Friday, January 9, 2026, at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese. She was born August 7, 1937, in Boulder, a daughter of the late William and Ola (nee Cooley) Biggs.

In addition to her parents, Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Johnson, whom she married November 24, 1960, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Carlyle and who died April 22, 2009; siblings, Wayne Biggs, Clarence Biggs, James (Leona) Biggs, and Mickey Schulte.

Audrey is survived by her son, Donald (Mara) Johnson of Charlottesville, VA; grandchildren, Katherina Johnson, Pathrisha Johnson, Robert Johnson, and Samuel Johnson; and siblings, Larry Biggs, Harold Biggs, and Charles Biggs.

Audrey was a dedicated homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family and home. She was a faithful member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese, a member of the Breese American Legion Auxiliary Unit 252, and a life member of the Carlyle V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 3523. Audrey was a passionate bingo player and a very sociable person who loved visiting with others and always made a point to stay in touch with her neighbors and friends.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be scheduled at a later date with an interment at St. Dominic-St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese.

Memorials in memory of Audrey may be made to the Breese American Legion Auxiliary and will be received by mail at Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th St., Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
