Bernadette M. Detmer, 80 of Trenton, died Thursday January 3, 2013 at St. James Villas in Breese.
She was born August 7, 1932 in Breese to Aloysius and Regina (Timmermann) Hagen: they preceded her in death.
She married Joseph Detmer October 29, 1952 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese and he preceded her in death May 14, 2003.
Also preceded in death by a daughter Mary Detmer, a son Stephen Detmer, brothers Aloys Hagen, Virgil Hagen, a sister Viola Huelsmann, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Leo Huelsmann, Cyril Foppe, Sr. Dolores Detmer ASC, Theodore Detmer, Donald Detmer, Lorene Hemker, Regi Detmer, Agnes Detmer, Patricia Detmer, Cleta Detmer, William Athmer, Henry Hemker.
Surviving are her children Ken (Maureen) Detmer of Lodi WI, Connie (Kent) Robben of Breese, Tom (Maribeth) Detmer of Breese, Jim (Mika) Detmer of Trenton, Eric (Chrissy) Detmer of Breese, Christine (Matt) Locke of Tampa, FL
20 grandchildren 1 great granddaughter.

Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Viola Hagen of Breese, Rita Detmer of Trenton, Mary Ellen Detmer of Breese, Julie Schlueter-Detmer of Breese, Stanley Detmer of Bartelso, Rosalie Athmer of Damiansville, Mary (Herman) Huelsmann of Aviston.
Bernadette was a homemaker. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life, she enjoyed bingo, playing cards and going to casinos. She excelled at crafts and won several national awards for her poppy displays with the Trenton VFW.
Member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Ladies Sodality. Trenton VFW Auxiliary, Red Hat Society.
Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday January 5, 2013 at 10:30 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton with Fr. Joseph Rascher officiating. Interment St. Mary Cemetery, Trenton.
Visitation will be Saturday January 5 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton
Memorials can be made to Mater Dei High School or Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be received at the church or Moss Funeral Home in Trenton who is handling the arrangements.
