    Brad M. Rehkemper, age 39, of Germantown, passed away Monday, September 25, 2023 at SSM Health St. Louis University Hospital.

     

    He was born December 7, 1983 in Breese, a son of Michael and Sandy, nee Beckmann, Rehkemper of New Baden.  He married Amy Rehkemper, nee Bauer, on September 22, 2012 in Aviston and she survives in Germantown.

     

    In addition to his parents and wife, Brad is survived by his children, Lorene “Lo” Rehkemper and Tucker Rehkemper; siblings, Tricia Rehkemper of New Baden and Karlee (fiance, Austin Speer) Rehkemper of Breese; father-in-law, Charles Bauer of Smithboro; mother-in-law, Jo Bauer of Breese; step-grandmother, Joanne Rehkemper of St. Rose; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jon (Tara) Thompson of Pocahontas, Brandye Schaefer of Swansea, Erin (Scott) Wilfong of Edwardsville, and Joey (Mady) Bauer of Greenville; aunts, uncles, fourteen nieces and nephews, and cousins.

     

    Brad was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jerome and Lorene, nee Frohn, Rehkemper and Alois and Margie, nee Loepker, Beckmann; aunt, Jackie Beckmann; and uncle, Stan Schomaker.

     

    Brad's professional journey led him to become a manager at Rehkemper and Son, Inc. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown and a passionate member of the King Pins Car Club in St. Louis, the Kernal Nut Club, and Valbo's Pool Team. Brad was a true enthusiast of automobiles, dedicating his time to meticulously restoring a 1955 Chevy from the ground up. His love for the world of cars was boundless.

     

    Outside of his automotive pursuits, Brad enjoyed side-by-side rides, playing games of dice, leisurely days on the water, the thrill of RC car racing, friendly matches of foosball, and the camaraderie of shooting pool. Most notably, he was known for his dedication to mentoring neighborhood kids and helping them with their bike repairs.

     

    Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, September 29, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown with Fr. Thomas Lugge and Fr. James Buerster concelebrating.  Interment will follow at St. Rose Cemetery in St. Rose.

     

    Visitation will be Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and again Friday, September 29, 2023 from 9:00 – 10:45 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown.

     

    In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to the Jared Burke Foundation, St. Rose Fire Department, or Germantown Fire Department and will be received at the visitation or by mail, Moss Funeral Home, PO 117 Germantown, IL 62245, who is serving the family.
