Carrie E. Schifferdecker

Carrie E. Schifferdecker, age 40, of Fairview Heights and formerly of Trenton, died Monday, March 11, 2019 at HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon.

She was born September 3, 1978 in St. Louis, MO, a daughter of David and Judy, nee Saums, Stepp of Trenton.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by daughters, Savannah E. and Jaidyn B. Schifferdecker; a brother, Curt (Paula, nee Schomaker) Stepp of Auburn, WA; nieces and nephews, Carter, Madelyn, Cooper, and Elizabeth Stepp; and special friend, Glen Lammers of Breese.

Carrie was preceded in death by a sister, Amy Elaine Stepp; and grandparents, John and Ermel, nee Christy, Saums and Leon and Helen, nee Poe, Stepp.

Carrie graduated from McKendree University with a degree in Elementary Education and was the current pre-school teacher at Marie Schaefer Elementary School in O’Fallon. She attended Christ Church in Fairview Heights.

Carrie absolutely adored her two daughters and loved spending time with her entire family. She also enjoyed running and was an animal lover.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton with Pastor Daren Carstens and Pastor Cederic Irby officiating. Interment will follow in Trenton Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.

In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to her Savannah’s and Jaidyn’s education fund (please make checks payable to Judy Stepp) and will be received through Moss Funeral Home, 105 S. Main St., Trenton, IL 62293 who is serving the family.
