Colby C. Sellers, Sr.

Colby C. Sellers, Sr., age 70, of Breese, died Monday, May 27, 2019 at Aviston Countryside Manor.

He was born December 2, 1948 in Breese, a son of the late Elmer and Barbara O’Neida, nee Quatro, Sellers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son in infancy, Byron Sellers.

Surviving are his wife Sandy, nee Willis, Sellers of Breese, whom he married December 21, 1974 at St. Felicitas Catholic Church in Beaver Prairie; sons, James (Stephanie) Sellers of Reno, NV and Colby C. (Michelle) Sellers, Jr. of Chicago; grandchildren, Owen and Zoe Sellers; and a sister, Sandra Mueller of St. Louis.

Colby retired as the Associate Director of Financial Aid at Western Illinois University in Macomb and was the past president of the Illinois Financial Aid Administrators. He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in St. Rose. Colby was currently writing a novel, and also enjoyed writing poetry and music. He was an avid reader, reading as many as 3-4 books at a time, and also enjoyed lifting weights and had an amazing green thumb.

Celebration of Life services will be Friday, May 31, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

Visitation will be Friday, May 31, 2019 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

Memorials may be made to Children of the Plains-St. Joseph’s Indian School or the Arbor Day Foundation and will be received at the funeral home.
