David L. Stepp, age 71, of Trenton, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Cedar Ridge Health and Rehab Center in Lebanon.

 

He was born November 6, 1948 in E. St. Louis, the son of the late Leon and Gladys “Helen”, nee Poe, Stepp.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughters, Amy Stepp and Carrie Schifferdecker.

 

Surviving are his wife Judy, nee Saums, Stepp of Trenton, whom he married June 12, 1971 in Bridgeport, IL; son, Curt (Paula) Stepp of Auburn, WA; grandchildren, Savannah and Jaidyn Schifferdecker, Carter, Madelyn, Cooper, and Elizabeth Stepp; and a sister, Barbara Yancey of O’Fallon, MO.

 

David taught for a short time in the New Athens School District and retired after teaching at Lebanon Junior High School and Lebanon High School.  David also had a lifelong love for collecting and selling antiques and was the current owner of Iron Gate Antiques in Albers.

 

Funeral Service, with limited seating, will be Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton with Pastor Daren Carstens and pastor Cedric Irby officiating. Interment will follow in Trenton Cemetery.

 

Visitation, with current CDC requirements and social distancing, will be Tuesday, June 16, 2020 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.
