Donald H. Beer, age 78, of Breese, entered into rest Thursday, January 16, 2020, at his residence.

 

He was born November 15, 1941, in Germantown Township, a son of the late Alois and Johanna, nee Luecking, Beer.

 

Mr. Beer is survived by his wife, Kathleen, nee Tebbe, Beer, whom he married May 1, 1965, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese; siblings, Bernette Toennies of Germantown, Stanley (Joann) Beer of Germantown, Lester (Carol) Beer of Breese, and Glen Beer of Jacksonville; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in law Rita Diekmann of Breese, Marilyn (Ralph) Bruggemann of St. Rose, Julie Tebbe of Breese, Arlene Holtgrave of St. Rose, and Martha (Dan) Ribbing of Aviston.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Emil and Irene, nee Schlautmann, Tebbe; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Cletus Toennies, Ronald Tebbe, Theresa Schrage, Paulette Tebbe, Lavern Dieckmann, and Lynda Beer.

 

Mr. Beer was a carpenter for Richter Construction, a veteran of the Illinois Army National Guard, and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and Breese American Legion Post 252.

 

Memorial Mass will be Thursday, January 23, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Chuck Tuttle presiding.  Interment will follow in St. Dominic-St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese.

 

In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to HSHS Home Care & Hospice Southern Illinois or Breese American Legion Post 252 Building Fund and will be received at the church or through Moss Funeral Home, who is serving the family.
