Dr. Allan N. Ranz, D.D.S. Ret. Lt. Col. U.S. Army, 66, of Trenton, died Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese.
He was born July 11, 1945 in Highland to Elmer and Florence “Flossie” (Nash) Ranz: they preceded him in death.
He married and later divorced Joan Caltagirone.
Surviving is a son John (Fiancée Becky Goldbach) Ranz of Buffalo Grove, IL
Dr. Ranz retired from the U.S. Army as a Lt Colonel and dentist at Fort Lewis in Washington, and was currently working as a Full Clinical Professor at SIUE Alton School of Dentistry. He graduated from SIU Edwardsville and University of Illinois in Chicago School of Dentistry.
Member of Messiah Lutheran Church and a church elder in Lebanon.
Funeral Service Saturday March 31, 2012 at 11:00 am at Messiah Lutheran Church in Lebanon, with Pastor Brian Holle officiating. Interment Trenton Cemetery, Trenton with full military honors accorded.
Visitation will be Saturday March 31, 2012 from 8:30 to 10:30 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.
