Dr. Julie P. Garcia, DMD, age 63, of Trenton, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese. She was born August 8, 1962, in Philadelphia, PA, a daughter of the late Dr. Serafin and Dr. Gloria (nee Enrile) Punzalan.
Julie married Dr. Arnel Garcia on April 9, 1988, in the Philippines and he survives in Trenton. In addition to her husband, Julie is survived by her children, Jacqueline (Joseph O’Neill) Garcia- O’Neill of Kansas City, MO and Adrian (Kaylee Flores-Garcia) Garcia of Corona, CA; siblings, Victoria Evangelista of Trenton, Rochelle (Rommel) Tuazon of Murrieta, CA, and Ricky Punzalan and Mark Punzalan, both of Makati, Philippines; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mirabelle (David) Ruelas of Omaha, NE, Jeanette (Chito) Cuizon, Cynthia Garcia, Zoraida (Bobby) Camello, and Gildo Garcia, Jr., all of Angeles City, Philippines, and Roberto (Suzzette) Garcia, of San Diego, CA; and nieces and nephews.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Angela Garcia; and parents-in-law, Juliana (nee Arenas) and Dr. Gildo Garcia.
Julie earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Central Escolar University in the Philippines, where she practiced dentistry for three years before moving to the United States. After marrying Arnel, she dedicated herself to supporting his medical practice in Trenton, where she served as office manager for many years.
A devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, Julie lived a life centered on faith and family. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton. She found joy in cooking, dancing, singing, shopping, and gardening, but above all, she was happiest when surrounded by her loved ones. Known for her warmth and generosity, Julie was like a second mother to many of her children’s friends, leaving a lasting imprint on all who knew her.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton with Fr. George Zieba presiding and Deacon Tom Ritzheimer assisting.
In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to the Parkinsons Foundation, St. Mary’s Parish, or Mater Dei Catholic High School and will be received at the church or by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 105 S. Main St. Trenton, IL 62293, who is serving the family.
