    Edith V. “Edie” Lappe 80 of Breese died Wednesday May 16, 2012 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

    She was born July 13, 1931 in Beckemeyer to Harry and Erma (Wylie) Frey: they preceded her in death

    Also preceded in death by a brother-in-law Albert Mensing.

    She married Eugene “Pete” Lappe November 30, 1948 at St. John United Church of Christ in Breese and he survives in Breese.

    Also surviving are her children Jerry (Nancy) Lappe of Breese, Larry (Debbie) Lappe of St. Charles, MO, Janice (Eddie) Hemann of Breese, Tom (Sheila) Lappe of Huntley, Shelly (John) Cooper of Breese.

    11 grandchildren Aaron (Lindsey) Lappe, Chad (Val) Lappe, Nic (Angel) Lappe, Erik (Brooke) Hemann, Kristy and Kelly Hemann, Preston, Kendall and Conner Lappe, Courtney and Kira Schulte.

    7 step grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 12 step grandchildren.

    A brother Kenneth (Nora) Frey of Palos Ranchos Verdes, CA

    Sisters Betty Mensing of O’Fallon, Joyce (David) Beckemeyer of Beckemeyer.

    Edie retired from Arrow Group Industries in Breese and she was the past owner of the Dutchman Tavern in Breese.

    Member of St. John United Church of Christ in Breese, American Legion Auxiliary Post 252, Breese, and Clinton County Tavern Association.

    Funeral services will be Monday May 21, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese. Interment St. John Cemetery, Breese.

    Visitation will be Sunday May 20 from 2 to 6 PM and Monday May 21 from 8 to services time at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

    Memorials can be made to St. John Church, Breese or Lymphoma/Leukemia Foundation and will be received at the funeral home.

    Breese American Legion Auxiliary will hold services Sunday at 5:00 Pm at the funeral Home.
