Elsie C. Reynolds, nee Morton, age 93, of Belleville, died Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Clinton Manor Living Center in New Baden.
Mrs. Reynolds was born March 2, 1924 in South Gate, CA, a daughter of the late George Morton and Ethel Marie, nee Foss, Caskey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George Reynolds whom she married in January 1943 in South Gate, CA and he died September 11, 1984; son, Stephen Wright Reynolds; daughter, Susan Kathleen Balint; son-in-law, Tim Harris; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Irene Reynolds; and sisters and their husbands, Peggy (Johnny) Youngsman and Kate (Gerald) Harrington.
She is survived by children, Richard “Alan” (Tracy) Reynolds of Danville, Jeorgia Harris of Trenton, and Penny Melching of Millstadt; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth “Beth” Reynolds of Washington; son-in-law, William “Bill” Balint of Belleville; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and brother, James (Shirley) Caskey of Washington.
Elsie worked for Addus Home Care in Swansea and was a member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Belleville and the Eastern Star in Mascoutah. She enjoyed being a Hospice Aid, painting, playing piano, singing, reading, but most of all spending time with her family.
Memorial Service will be Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton with Fr. Kenneth York presiding. Interment will follow in Greenmount Cemetery in New Baden.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Illinois or to the Disabled American Veterans and will be received at the funeral home.
