    Emerentia M. “Emmy” Kampwerth of St. Rose, departed this life peacefully at the age of 90 to be with her Lord on September 28, 2019 surrounded by her loving family at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese. She was born in St. Rose on January 24, 1929 to the late George H. and Josephine, nee Wilke, Kampwerth.

     

    Emmy was a life-long member of St. Rose Catholic Church and Altar Sodality in St. Rose. She formerly worked at the Aviston Shoe Factory, Wee Walker Shoe Factory in Carlyle, and the Breese Nursing Home. Emmy loved her family and through the years her home was always the gathering place for the Kampwerth holidays and reunions. She was hard-working and faith-filled, always giving thanks to God for her many blessings. Emmy enjoyed gardening, cooking, going to church, watching golf, and going out for Sunday breakfast. She was a wonderful sister, aunt, great-aunt, and great-great-aunt to her family, and her wit and love of the simple things in life will be missed.

     

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, George B. Kampwerth; sisters, Sr. Rita Kampwerth, ASC and Netty Kapp; sister-in-law, Dorothy Kampwerth; and brothers-in-law, Rich Kapp, William Alberternst, and Wilbert “Butch” Jansen.

     

    Surviving are her three loving sisters, Sr. Georgia Kampwerth, ASC of Ruma, Anna Alberternst of St. Rose, and Jane Jansen of Breese. She is also survived by many caring nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and cousins.

     

    Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church in St. Rose with Fr. Edward Schaefer presiding. Interment will follow in St. Rose Cemetery, St. Rose.

     

    Visitation will be Thursday, October 3, 2019 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church in St. Rose.

     

    In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to St. Rose Catholic Church or to the Sisters of Adorers of the Blood of Christ in Ruma and will be received at the church or through Moss Funeral Home in Breese who is serving the Kampwerth
