    Emma A. Niemeyer, nee Haumesser, Niemeyer, age 91, of Breese, born October 22, 1928 in Breese, a daughter of the late Albert and Lydia, nee Lappe, Haumesser, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2019 at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese.  Emma lived all of her life in this area, and on November 27, 1958, she married the love of her life, Eugene A. “Nip” Niemeyer at Equality.  They enjoyed spending time together, whether traveling or playing golf, an evening with friends, or just a quiet night at home.  “Nip” preceded her in death on April 25, 2013.

     

    In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ferd “Nip” and Elizabeth Ann, nee Strake, Niemeyer; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Manuel “Abie” Gonzalez, Charles Niemeyer and wife Agnes “Smitty”, Catherine Niemeyer, Florence Niemeyer, Dorothy Niemeyer, and Dorothy Niemeyer; Nip’s step-father, B. Henry Robben; and Nip’s step-siblings, Larry Robben and wife Ferne, Robert Robben and wives Dolores and Gertrude, and Rose Marie “Dolly” Brefeld and husband Bernard.

     

    Emma is survived by her sister, June Gonzalez of Beckemeyer; nieces and nephews, Rick (Deb) Gonzalez of Carlyle, Diane (Bryan) Marsh of Trenton, Dan (Ann) Niemeyer of Boulder, CO, and Diane (friend Henry) Niemeyer of Chicago; many great-nieces and great-nephews, Tricia (Clent) Schulte, Ryan (Megan) Gonzalez, Lauren (Jared) Langhauser, Scott (Amy) Marsh, Amy (Matt) Ori, Chris Marsh, Jerry (Staci) Niemeyer, and Rob (Sheri) Niemeyer; numerous great-great-nephews and great-great-nieces, Alex, Lawson, Griffin, Mason, Ava, Rhett, Emily, Daniel, Gunnar, Olivia, Brynn, Ansley, Allison, Isabella, and Collin; and special friends, Tom and Phyllis Berndsen of Breese.

     

    Emma retired from the State Bank of Breese after 27 years of service, and in her many roles there at the bank, her service was always given with a smile.  She was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese and the Breese Historical Society.

     

    Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, October 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Patrick Peter and Deacon Linus Klostermann presiding.  Interment will follow in St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese.

     

    Visitation will be Monday, October 28, 2019 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic church in Breese.

     

    In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to St. Dominic Catholic Church, Mater Dei Catholic High School, or All Saints Academy and will be received at the church or through Moss Funeral Home in Breese who is serving the family.
