Frank H. Schroeder, Sr., age 98, of Bartelso, IL, died Sunday, February 18, 2018 in Aviston, IL.

 

Mr. Schroeder was born December 13, 1919 in Bartelso, IL, to the late Henry and Caroline, nee Eilers, Schroeder.  He married Agnes Hustedde February 9, 1949 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Beckemeyer, IL.

 

Mr. Schroeder is survived by his wife; children Carol (Kerry) Price of Washington, MO, Rebecca Price of Union, MO, Diane (Terry) Storey of Ina, Kenneth (Barb) Schroeder of Bartelso, Marilyn (Joe) Ottenschnieder of Germantown, Kevin (Karen) Schroeder of Breese, Frank Schroeder of Germantown, Steve (Lisa) Schroeder of Bartelso, Shelly (Darvin) Zeisset of Aviston, and Timothy (Stacy) Schroeder of Albers; grandchildren, Jennifer Griffin, Dale Price, Sarah Nowak, Megan Woodcock, Scott Price, Amy Donoho, Tracy Ellis, Chad Storey, Nick Schroeder, Jacob Schroeder, John Schroeder, Curt Ottenschnieder, Brian Ottenschnieder, April Alberternst, Alyson Weaver, Katrina Hays, Ryan Schroeder, Raquel Schroeder, Tyler Schroeder, Evan Schroeder, Robert Absher, Danielle Grapperhaus, Nathan Zeisset, Matthew Schroeder, Elizabeth Schroeder, and Tessa Schroeder; thirty-three great-grandchildren; brother Cletus Schroeder; and sisters-in-law Dorothy Schroeder, Joan Schroeder, Vera Pulver, and Sr. Germaine Hustedde.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Donata Absher; sisters, Frances Wiecking and husband Oscar, Laura Koczur and husband Henry, Alvina Heet and husband Henry, Cornelia Schomaker and husband Art, and Adeline Schroeder; brothers Alvin Schroeder and wife Wilhelmine, Ed Schroeder, and Henry Schroeder; sister-in-law Dolores Schroeder; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herman and Martha, nee Lake, Hustedde.

 

Mr. Schroeder was a veteran of the United States Marines and a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church and Carpentry Local 662 in Freeburg, and he enjoyed carpentry and reading.

 

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Germantown.

 

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Bartelso with Fr. Jim Buerster presiding.  Interment will follow in St. Cecilia Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice or St. Cecilia Catholic Church and will be received at the funeral home.
