Gerald M. “Buzzy” Buzzard, age 97, of Trenton, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese. He was born January 24, 1928, in Riverside, CA, a son of the late Glen and Verna (nee Goss) Buzzard.

Buzzy is survived by his children, Ann (Rick Blackburn) Morgan of Frazier Park, CA and Stephen “Soda” (Karen) Buzzard of Trenton; grandchildren, Ashley (Miguel Valderramo) Morgan, Michael (Kate) Morgan, and Mason (Ava) Buzzard; great-grandchildren, Miguel Valderramo III, Federico Valderramo, Nikolas, William, and Jacob Morgan, Stetson Buzzard, and his first great-granddaughter on the way; sister-in-law, Elaine Goodwin of Dekalb; and nieces and nephews.
Buzzy lived a life of dedication to his country, his family, his work, and his community. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1946 to 1949 before settling into a long and fulfilling career at Wesclin Community School District as a custodian and bus driver. He took great pride in his work, forming connections with students and staff, always ready with a warm smile, a story to tell, or a joke to share. His love for the school and its people never faded.
Buzzy was a proud lifelong Republican and a devoted member of Grace Community Baptist Church in Trenton. He never met a stranger and could talk to anyone, often entertaining with his storytelling and kindhearted nature. He was a man who loved people, loved his community, and left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
