Geralyn M. Vogel, née Lammers, age 51, of Breese, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She was born on January 6, 1973, in Breese, the beloved daughter of Kenny and Margie (née Deien) Lammers of Breese.
A devoted wife, mother, daughter, and friend, Geralyn is survived by her husband of 29 years, Jeff Vogel of Breese, whom she married on June 3, 1995, at St. Augustine Catholic Church. She leaves behind two cherished sons, Patrick Vogel and Connor Vogel, both of Breese. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Jeanette Vogel (née Trame) of Bartelso; her sister-in-law, Lisa Hellmann of Carlyle; and her nephew, Michael Hellmann of Carlyle.
Geralyn was preceded in death by her brother, Kurt Lammers; her father-in-law, James Vogel; her brother-in-law, Randy Hellmann; and her nephew, Matthew Hellmann.
Geralyn's career reflected her dedication to healthcare, serving as the Senior Regulatory Manager for Fresenius Medical Care, overseeing the Midwest Group for both the West Chicago and Mississippi River Valley Regions. Her previous roles included work with HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital, Clinton County Rural Health Clinic, Renal Care of Illinois, and Gambro Healthcare.
A devout member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Geralyn served as the Bingo Chairperson. Outside of her professional and church commitments, she enjoyed an active lifestyle filled with running, kayaking, cycling, softball, and golf. She even shared her passion for fitness by running kickboxing classes in the past.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Chuck Tuttle presiding and Deacon Jay Fowler assisting. Interment will follow at St. Dominic-St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese.
