    Helen C. Wuebbles, age 88, of Germantown, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Clinton Manor in New Baden.

     

    She was born on September 15, 1937, in Germantown, Illinois, to the late George and Anna (née Sprehe) Diesen.

     

    In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her siblings, Dolores (Butch) Lohman, Elmer “Drake” (Jenny) Diesen, Bob Diesen, Walter “Skip” Diesen, Ervin “Ervie” Diesen, Leroy Diesen, and Joanne Gebke; as well as her former husband, Eugene Wuebbles.

     

    Helen is survived by her children; Matthew Wuebbles of New Baden, Suzanne (Rick) Ribbing of Germantown, Jeff (Marcia) Wuebbles of Germantown, Lisa (Rich) Strubhart of Breese, and Eric Wuebbles of Albers; grandchildren, Heather (Brad) Koerkenmeier, Joshua (Danielle) Ribbing, Mariah Esplund, Zach (Ashley) Esplund, Jeffrey (Emily) Wuebbles, Joe (fiancée Tori) Wuebbles, Aaron (Jenna) Wuebbles, Nicole (Zach) Toennies, Stephanie (Justin) Albers, Erica (Bill) Harp, and Ethan (Jesse) Strubhart, and was blessed with 23 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Gene Gebke of Bartelso; sisters-in-law, Sue Diesen of Florida, Jane Diesen, Betty Diesen, and Jean Diesen, all of Germantown; along with many cherished nieces and nephews.

     

    Helen retired from Germantown Grade School as a cook and also owned and operated Helen Wuebbles Catering. She was a faithful member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown and was actively involved in her community. Helen dedicated her time to organizations such as the Catholic Holy Family Society (CHFS), Habitat for Humanity, and the Community Link Parent Association. She was also a founding member of the Clinton County Association for Special Persons (CCASP), generously giving her time and heart to causes supporting families and children with special needs.

     

    She found great joy in quilting, cooking, camping, donating her time to CFL and special needs children and especially treasured time spent with her family. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to others will be remembered by all who knew her.

     

    A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown, with Father Lugge officiating. Inurnment will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery.

     

    Visitation will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown.

     

    In lieu of flowers, plants, or other gifts, memorials may be made to Community Link and will be received at the visitation or by mail at Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th Street, Breese, IL 62230, which is serving the family.
