Henry G. "Hank" Peek, 86, of Breese, died Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese.
Mr. Peek was born November 18, 1926 in Breese Twp. to John and Theresia (Kampwerth) Peek; they preceded him in death.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers, Joseph, August, Gerhard, Cyril, and John Peek; a sister, Sr. Theresta Peek, SSND; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Martha Peek, Estelle Peek, Robert Hustedde, Francis Hustedde, Joseph Hustedde, and Charles Boeckmann.
He married Mary Ann Hustedde on September 27, 1949 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese; she survives in Breese.
Also surviving are his children, Duane Peek of Plano, TX, Donna (Rodell) Weh of Breese, Cindy Dumstorff of High Ridge, MO, and Lisa (Michael) Enright of Harvest, AL; 6 grandchildren, Holly (Kris) Hanson, Dan Peek, Kristie (Clinton) Beach, Derek (Melissa) Weh, Lindsay (Craig) Hejnal, and Hannah Enright; 5 great-grandchildren; Georgia, Kristopher, Kinsley, Camden, and Emma; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Leona Peek of Breese, Arlene Peek of Aviston, Carol Peek of St. Rose, Monica Boeckmann of Germantown, Rita (Maurice) Albers of Germantown, Rose (Francis) Rehkemper of Breese, Herb (Carol) Hustedde of Breese, Anthony Hustedde of Breese, and Dorothy (Gerald) Showalter of O'Fallon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Hank retired from General Motors, was formerly a custodian for the City of Breese Parks, and was a Veteran of the United States Army.
He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church, Breese American Legion Post 252, and the Breese Knights of Columbus Council 2869.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 10:00 am at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Patrick Peter and Fr. William Hitpas officiating. Interment will follow in St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese.
Visitation will be Friday, October 4, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 pm and again on Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 8:00-9:30 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.
Memorials can be made to St. Dominic Catholic Church, Breese Park, or to Hannah's Playground and will be received at the funeral home.
The Breese American Legion will hold services at 7:00 pm and the Breese Knights of Columbus will hold services at 7:30 pm all Friday evening at the funeral home.
