    Jean Ann Brophy, nee Stout, age 75, of St. Jacob, IL, and formerly of Westminster, TX and Peoria, IL, passed away August 11, 2022 at her home.

     

    She was born August 22, 1946 in Mt. Vernon, IL, the daughter of Dora O., nee Lee, Stout and the late Homer C. Stout, Sr.

     

    In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Michael Brophy, whom she married August 13, 1966 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Dixon, IL and who died February 13, 2009; sister, Dana Barber; brothers, Jim Stout and Homer Stout, Jr.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Margaret, nee O’Connell, Brophy; and brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack Kocher, Jim Casey, Merv Haycock, Sr. Madeline Marie Brophy, Bill Brophy, and Alvin “Ken” Barber.

     

    Jean Ann is survived by her mother, Dora O. Stout; daughters, Sheila (Ryan Bruce) Brophy of Westminster, TX and Joy (Tommy) Shearer of St. Jacob, IL; grandchildren, Huxley Bruce, and Derek, Bryan, Abbey, and Nolan Shearer; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sharon Stout of Morton, Peggy Kocher of Peoria, Patricia (Jim) Flynn of West Peoria, Kathleen Casey of Arizona, Diane Haycock of Peoria, Berna (Phil) Stickelmaier of Peoria, and Bob Brophy of Morton; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

     

    Jean Ann was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fairview Heights.  She was an avid Notre Dame Football Fan, enjoyed watching NASCAR with her husband, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

     

    Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, August 15, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Resurrection Chapel at Resurrection Mausoleum & Cemetery in Peoria, IL with Fr. Donald Henderson presiding.  Entombment will follow for both Jean Ann and her beloved husband, John, at Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria, IL.

     

    Visitation will be Monday, August 15, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Resurrection Chapel at Resurrection Mausoleum & Cemetery in Peoria, IL.

     

    Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children Research Hospital or ProMedica Hospice and will be received at the visitation or by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th St. Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
