Jeffrey B. Pingsterhaus, age 49, of Germantown, passed away Sunday February 1, 2026 at his residence. He was born February 29, 1976 in Belleville, the son of Mary Elizabeth (nee Hobbs) Pingsterhaus of Germantown and the late Eugene Pingsterhaus.
In addition to his mother, Jeffrey is survived by his loving wife Sarah Pingsterhaus (nee Michels) whom he married on October 25, 2008 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown; his children, twins Emma and Nolan Pingsterhaus; siblings Dan (Jamie) Pingsterhaus of Albers, Brian (friend Leigh Anne Morenus) Pingsterhaus of Indiana, Nick (Brooke) Pingsterhaus of Breese; parents-in-law John and Dianne (nee Peters) Michels of Germantown; brother-in-law Adam (Ashley) Michels of Moscow Mills, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father, and grandparents, Ida Marie Hobbs and William and Emma (nee Becker) Pingsterhaus.
He graduated from Central High School in 1994, and SIU Carbondale in 2001 with a masters degree in agriculture. He worked for the USDA Farm Service Agency, and was a county executive director for the counties of Clinton, St. Clair, and Monroe.
Jeffrey enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing with his children, attending their sporting events, and all other family time.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday February 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown with Fr. Thomas Lugge and Fr. James Buerster concelebrating.
A visitation will be held on Monday February 9, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese, and again on Tuesday February 10, 2026 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown.
In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to an education fund for his children (checks payable to Sarah Pingsterhaus) and will be received at the visitation or by mail at Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th St., Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
