      Jeremy M. Whitten, age 37, of Trenton, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.  He was born October 20, 1986 in Belleville, a son of Ann, nee Steiger, Bowers of Trenton and the late Michael Whitten.

       

      In addition to his mother, Ann, Jeremy is survived by his fiancée, Ashlyn Haake of Trenton; children, Jayden Whitten and Annabelle Cope; siblings, Rebecca Phillips of Albers, Vance Whitten of Moscow Mills, MO, Joey Whitten of Freeburg, and Stephanie Bowers of Trenton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

       

      Jeremy was preceded in death by his father, Michael and step-father, Steven Bowers.

       

      Jeremy found joy and purpose in his work as a cook at Trenton House. His culinary skills and dedication made a lasting impact on those around him. Beyond his professional life, Jeremy was an avid sports fan, with a particular passion for the Dallas Cowboys. His enthusiasm for sports brought laughter and camaraderie to those who shared his love for the game. In addition to his sports fandom, Jeremy was a talented artist and took pleasure in woodworking, creating pieces that reflected his creativity and skill.

       

      A private celebration of Jeremy’s life will be held, where family and close friends will gather to share memories and support one another during this difficult time.

       

      Memorials in honors of Jeremy may be made to the wishes of the family (checks payable to Ashlyn Haake) and will be received by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 105 S. Main St. Trenton, IL 62293, who is serving the family.
