Jess P. Surman, Jr., age 42, formerly of Germantown, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021 in Carlyle.
He was born November 17, 1978 in Red Bud, a son of Jess P. Surman, Sr. and Carol Burgdorff-Niemeyer.
Jess is survived by his father and step-mother, Terri Surman; mother; brother, Stephen (girlfriend, Jodie Schultheis) Surman; half-brothers and half-sisters, Connie (Brian) Meyer, Loretta Presswood, Rhonda (Paul) Greatting, Ronald (Tina) Seders, Nick (Sheila) Burgdorff, Joseph (Steph) Surman, and Thomas Surman; his extended friends and family, the Marvin Gebke family; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Martin (Alice) Burgdorff; and paternal grandparents, Stephen (Gertrude) Surman.
Jess was a graduate of Central High School and was employed at Millside Inn in Germantown. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, loved to cook and hang out with friends.
A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service at Moss Funeral Home in Germantown.
In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, monetary donations may be made to help with final expenses and will be received at the funeral home or by mail to Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th, Breese, IL 62230 who is serving the family.
