    James F. “Jim” Schumacher 54 of St. Rose died surrounded by family on Saturday June 22, 2013 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO

    He was born January 20, 1959 in Highland to Gervase and Norma (Buske) Schumacher: they preceded him in death.

    Surviving are his siblings Gerald “Chip” Schumacher of Breese, Dennis (Deb) Schumacher of St. Rose, Debbie (Jim) David of Macon, GA, Steve (Fiancée Angie Walter) Schumacher of Albers, Laurie (Glen) Owens of St. Louis, MO, Brenda (Steven) Lange of Manchester, MO

    Beloved uncle, nephew, cousin, friend to many.

    Jim graduated from Central High School, member of St. Rose Church and Men’s Sodality. He was a resident of Carlyle Health Care Center for many years.

    Jim was a quadriplegic for the past 37 years. He accepted his handicap and lived a full life. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed listening to music, spending time on the computer and facebook. Mostly, he loved being with family, and his amazing network of friends. His talkative personality and genuinely caring nature made him truly special. He faced numerous challenges head on with admirable strength and was an inspiration to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.

    Funeral Mass of Christian burial will Wednesday June 26, 20123 at 10:00 am at St. Rose Catholic Church with Fr. Edward Schaefer officiating. Interment St. Rose Cemetery.

    Visitation will be Tuesday June 25 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Wednesday June 26, from 8:00 to 9:30 AM at the Moss Funeral Home, in Breese.

    Memorials can be made to St. Rose Church memorial fund, Carlyle Health Care Center Activity fund, or donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
