    Joan F. Haury, nee Hamilton, 96, of Summerfield, IL, died Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Faith Care Center in Highland, IL.

    She was born August 29, 1917 in Dickinson County, ND to George and Maggie (Joyce) Hamilton and was raised by Rose (Walser) Hamilton; they all preceded her in death.

    She married Lester John Haury on December 26, 1939 in St. Louis, MO; he preceded her in death on March 1, 1983.

    Also preceded in death by sisters, Betty Broeker and Monica Schnieder, a brother, Felix Hamilton-Felhauer; and half brothers, Paul Hamilton and John Hamilton.

    Surviving are her children Earl Jon (Sue) Haury of Katy, TX, Philip (Kathy) Haury of Rockwall, TX, and Mary Ann (Kenneth) Pasek of Summerfield, IL.

    5 grandchildren, Norman (Shannon) Haury, Jeff Haury, Jordan (Doug) Moore, Melissa (Matthew) Streif, Michael (Judi) Williams

    8 great-grandchildren, Ben Haury, Nash Haury, Neenah Williams, Alayna and Amilya Streif, and Cameron, Collin, and Corbin Moore

    Sisters Agnes Schure of Guttenberg, IA, Helen Schmitt of Elk Mountain, WY

    Joan worked at Chastain Nursing Home in Highland and was a homemaker.

    Member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Altar Sodality in Lebanon, IL, former member of Summerfield Cemetery Association and the Summerfield Fireman’s Auxiliary.

    Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 9, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lebanon, IL with Fr Gene Neff officiating. Interment will follow in Summerfield Cemetery, Summerfield, IL.

    Visitation will be Friday, May 9, 2014 from 9:00am to 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lebanon.

    Memorials can be made to the Summerfield Cemetery Association or St. Joseph Catholic Church and will be received through the church or Moss Funeral Home who is handling the arrangements.
