    Joan R. Neff, age 82 of Germantown, born March 19, 1935 in Breese, a daughter of the late Bernard and Anna, nee Wessel, Woltering, died Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Conway Manor in Creve Coeur, MO.

     

    In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband David Neff, whom she married October 8, 1957 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese and he died May 1, 2017; her siblings, Alfred Woltering and his wife Rose, Laura Schuette and her husband Francis, Juliana Becker and her husband Joseph, Norbert Woltering and his wife Grace, Sr. Mary (Rosalie) Myles, SSND, Veronica Timmermann and her husband Paul and Charles Woltering; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, , Estelle and Edward Boevingloh, Virginia and Col. Joseph Disana, USAF, Ret., Frances and Richard Mueller, Elmer Neff, Helen and Harold Temme, and Harold “Bud” Neff.

     

    Surviving are her children, Debra (Curt) Bonds of Decatur, Myra (James) Thoele of Breese, Bridget (Richard) Hage of Eagan, MN, Marian (Gary) Wallberg of Dublin, OH, and Mark (Kim Evens) Neff of Fenton, MO; 8 grandchildren, Mitchell and Laura Bonds, Anna and Katherine Thoele, Connor and Matthew Hage, Jack and Kathryn Wallberg; a brother, Daniel Woltering of Centralia; and sisters-in-law, Edna Woltering of Carlyle and Helene Neff of St. Louis.

     

    Joan graduated from DePaul Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis, MO as a Registered Nurse. She began her nursing career working for Dr. Roger Sosa in Germantown and later worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese for over 35 years where she served in a variety of nursing roles. Joan retired as the Director of Nursing in April 1995. She enjoyed gardening and volunteering with the Lifeline Services and Health Fairs that were offered through St. Joseph’s Hospital.

     

    Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, May 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown with Fr. James Buerster presiding. Interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery, Germantown.

     

    Visitation will be Friday, May 12, 2017 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown.

     

    Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and will be received at the church or through Moss Funeral Home in Germantown who is serving the family.
