    John “Hans” Glueck, age 82 of Breese, IL, born September 23, 1932 in Grosswallstadt, Germany to the late Alois and Margarethe, nee Hess, Glück, died peacefully with his children by his side on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Terrace on the Park Nursing Home in Mascoutah, IL.

    He married Anne Voelker on May 10, 1958 in West Orange, NJ and she preceded him in death on November 28, 2004.

    In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by brothers, Walter and Arthur Glück; and father-in-law and mother-in-law Josef and Eva, nee Wuest, Voelker,

    Surviving are his children, John Glueck and wife Mary of Oro Valley, AZ and Heidi Haar and husband Curt of Breese, IL; 4 grandchildren, Daniel Glueck, Amanda, Brianna, and Chandler Haar; brothers, Karl Glück and wife Erika of Gansevoort, NY and Josef (Gisela) Glück of Germany; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Rita Appel and husband Siegfried and Lydia Hessler and husband Bruno, all of Germany.

    John formerly co-owned and operated Knotty Pine Inn and Motel in Breese, IL from 1969 to 1990. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and their many activities. Hans was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time on the links with his many friends.

    He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese, IL, Breese Knights of Columbus Council 2869, Breese Lions Clubs where he served as past president, founding member of the Bent Oak Golf Course in Breese, IL, and member of the Clinton County Tavern Owners Association.

    Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese, IL with Fr. Patrick Peter officiating. Interment will follow in St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese, IL.

    Visitation will be Tuesday, April 14, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese, IL.

    Memorials can be made to the Breese Lions Club or the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.

    The Breese Knights of Columbus will hold services at 7:00 p.m. and the Lions club will hold services at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
