Joyce Schmitt

Joyce Schmitt, age 77, of Trenton, died Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Clinton Manor Living Center in New Baden.

She was born February 15, 1941 in Caseyville, a daughter of the late Raymond and Lucille, nee Cobetto, Kombrink.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert “Bob” Schmitt, whom she married April 2, 1960 at St. John United Church of Christ in Trenton and he died August 16, 2018; and a son, Larry Schmitt.

Surviving are her son, Randy (Mary) Schmitt of Freeburg; daughter-in-law, Sheri Schmitt of Aviston; grandchildren, Ashley and Nick Schmitt, Dylan and Brenden Schmitt; brother, Ronald Kombrink of Trenton; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Doris and Jerry Nagel of Calliham, TX; niece, Geraldine (Greg) Wessel of St. Jacob; and nephew, Curtis (Jenny) Nagel of Collinsville.

Joyce was a homemaker and a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Trenton.

Funeral Service will be Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton with Rev. Christy Eckert officiating. Interment will follow in College Hills Cemetery, Lebanon.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Hospice of Southern Illinois, or St. John United Church of Christ and will be received at the funeral home.
