    Kate D. Buehne, age 62, of St. Rose, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at her home surrounded by family. She was born July 15, 1962, in Breese, a daughter of the late Gerhard and Arlene (nee Schrage) Peek.

     

    Kate married Jim Buehne on December 4, 2004, at St. Rose Catholic Church and he survives in St. Rose. In addition to her husband, Kate is survived by her daughter, Megan Kaiser of Nashville, TN; step-children, Jared (Anna) Buehne of Ballwin, MO, Jonathan (Mary) Buehne of St. Rose, and Jacob (Kelsie) Buehne of St. Rose; grandchildren, Margaret and William Buehne, Emmett and Arlo Buehne, and Callie and Brooks Buehne; siblings, Dale (Paula) Peek of Aviston, Kevin Peek of Trenton, and Deb (Linus) Buehne of St. Rose; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John Strobl of Belleville, Patty Wasser of Boulder, Cindy Yelverton of Highland, Randy (Michelle) Buehne of St. Rose, Dan (Wanda) Buehne of St. Rose, Mark (Betsy) Buehne of St. Rose, Steve (Kelly) Buehne of Maryville, Vicki (Tim) Langenhorst of Germantown, and Kris (Greg) Jeckstadt of St. Rose; and numerous nieces and nephews.

     

    In addition to her parents, Kate was preceded in death by her siblings, Sandy Strobl, Darlene Peek, Gary Peek, and Glen Peek; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Eugene “Butch” and Geraldine “Gerry” (nee Schultz) Buehne; brother-in-law, Ron Yelverton; niece, Charity Peek; and nephew, Dylan Peek.

     

    Kate dedicated 38 years of her life to the General Service Administration as a Supply Management Representative. She was a faithful member of St. Rose Catholic Church and Altar Sodality, she was also active in HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary, the St. Rose Development Club, and selflessly volunteered by delivering Meals on Wheels. Kate had a deep love for travel and treasured every moment spent with her family.

     

    Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church in St. Rose with Fr. Edward Schaefer presiding. Interment will follow at St. Rose Cemetery.

     

    Visitation will be Tuesday, February 18, 2025, from 8:30 – 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church in St. Rose.

     

    In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation or St. Rose Parish and will be received at the visitation or by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th St. Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
