Leland E. "Lee" "Skip" Louden, age 95 of Trenton, died Thursday, February 26, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese.
Mr. Louden was born January 25, 1920 in St. Louis, MO to Mary Agnes Louden; she preceded him in death.
In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Newman K. and Elizabeth (Ellison) Meddows; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lavern and Flora Meddows, Clifford and Lois Meddows, Kenward "Sparky" and Sally Meddows, Donald "Buck" Meddows, Jane and Harry "Bud" Saville, Gilbert Meddows, Harry and Lucy Meddows; and his father figure, Bill Bingaman.
He married Sarah "Sally" Meddows on May 11, 1947 at the First United Methodist Church in Trenton; she survives in Trenton.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by daughters, Terry Griesbaum and husband Dennis and Rhonda Dupras and husband Jim all of Trenton; 4 grandchildren, Kristy Lytle and special friend Brandon Buescher, Michelle Griesbaum and fiancé Rich Rohe , Sara Jennings and husband Aaron , and Nick Dupras and wife Caitlin; 9 great-grandchildren, Teagan Rohe, Liam and Athena Joyce, Phoenix, Leland, Brayden, Alex, Ezekiel, and Vincent Jennings; sisters-in-law, Lettie Meddows of Lake Charles, LA and Wilma Quitmeyer-Gerse of Belleville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Skip was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during WWII. He was a self employed Mink Rancher until 1966, retired as the Insect/Rodent Control Foreman at Scott Air Force Base, and sold Real Estate for Century 21 in Trenton and Fortune Realty in O'Fallon. In addition, he developed the East Gate Manor Subdivision and helped develop Northland Acres Subdivision, both in Trenton.
Lee was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Trenton, charter member of Trenton VFW Post 7983, and past member of the Trenton Sportsmen Club. He loved to hunt, fish, mushroom hunting, spending time with his family, and vacationing.
Funeral Services will be Monday, March 2, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton with Rev. Mike Rucker officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in Trenton Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 1, 2015 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. and again on Monday, March 2, 2015 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.
The Trenton VFW will hold services at 5:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
Memorials can be made to the First United Methodist Church in Trenton, Trenton VFW Post 7983, or Celtic Hospice and will be received at the funeral home.
