Lester M. Ranz 87 of Aviston died Saturday September 14, 2013 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese.

Her was born October 1925 in Aviston to William and Frieda (Gieseke) Ranz and the step son of Emma (Junkins) Ranz: they preceded him in death.

Her married Eleanor Scheel August 13, 1949 in Arnprior Ontario Canada and she preceded him in death July 3, 2003.

Also preceded in death by brothers Howard Ranz, Clifford Ranz, sister-in-law Elva Ranz, son-in-law Hal Gray.

Surviving are his children David (Joan) Ranz of Trenton, Lenore Gray of Trenton, Jim Ranz of Aviston, Carolyn (Gary) Smoot of Sterling, Glenn Ranz of Aviston.

9 grandchildren Tim (Jaime) Ranz, Chris, Erin, Meaghan Ranz, Philip, Justin, Jonathan Gray, Kestrel, Katelyn Smoot.

A great granddaughter Ella Ranz

A brother Richard Ranz of Breese.

Lester was a retired Dairy Farmer.

Member of Grace Community Baptist Church in Trenton, Clinton County Holstein Club, Clinton County Farm Bureau, past board member of Prairie State Select Sires.

Funeral Services will be Friday September 20, 2013 at 10:00 am at Grace Community Baptist Church in Trenton with Pastor Bob Marsh officiating. Interment Trenton Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday September 19 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton and Friday September 20, 2013 from 9;00 am to time of services at Grace Community Baptist Church in Trenton.

Memorials can be made to the Grace Community Baptist Church and will be received at the funeral home or at the church.
