Lucille L. Hustedde, age 97, of Breese, entered into rest Friday, October 9, 2020, at HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon.
She was born January 13, 1923, in Highland, the daughter of the late William C. and Stella, nee Geismann, Winter.
Lucille married Joseph Hustedde October 24, 1946, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland. He preceded her in death April 11, 2011.
She is survived by her children, Mary (Deacon Charles) Litteken of Aviston, Ruth (Leonard) Holtgrave of St. Rose, Thomas (Jan) Hustedde of Breese, and John (Leann) Hustedde of St. Rose; twenty grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson Terry Litteken; sister, Marie Baker, and her husband John; brother, Leonard Winter, and his wife Arlene; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Elizabeth, nee Timmermann, Hustedde; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Frank and Laura Hustedde, Ed and Cecilia Hustedde, Garrett and Alvina Hustedde, Mary and Edwin Hitpas, Josephine Hustedde, and Viola and Vic Becker.
Lucille was a lifelong homemaker and an active member of St. Dominic Catholic Church and Altar Sodality and Daughters of Isabella Circle 718. She enjoyed quilting, playing cards and checkers, cooking, and, most of all, spending time with her family.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 14, 2020, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Patrick Peter and Fr. Bill Hitpas concelebrating. Interment will follow in St. Dominic-St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese.
At both the visitation and Mass, guests are required to wear masks. Mass will be limited to 100 guests.
In lieu of flowers and other gifts, memorials may be made to St. Dominic Catholic Church or Mater Dei Catholic High School and will be received at church or through Moss Funeral Home, who is serving the family (535 North Fifth Street, Breese, IL, 62230).
