      Lucille K. “Lou” Rickhoff, age 83, of Breese, passed away Monday, November 16, 2020, at Aviston Countryside Manor.

       

      She was born April 23, 1937, in Breese, the daughter of the late Leo and Elizabeth, nee Weier, Bergmann.

       

      In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Smitty” Rickhoff, whom she married September 4, 1956, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers and who passed away August 11, 2015; siblings, Cecilia (Ferdinand) Thien, Adele (August) Sundrup, Edward Bergmann (in infancy), Mary Ann Gehrs, Lawrence “Pete” Bergmann, and Joseph “Fitz” (Ruth) Bergmann; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Henry and Frances, nee Luebke, Rickhoff; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Alfred “Bigfoot” (Fronie) Rickhoff, Bernice (Vic) Loepker, and Loretta “Tootie” (August) Trame.

       

      Surviving are her children, Nancy (Dale) Huelsmann of Breese and Marla (Curt) Strieker of Breese; grandchildren, Nicky (Scott) Voss, Jason (Brittany) Strieker, and Courtney (friend Matt Shaw) Strieker; great-grandchildren, Maddie Voss and Tucker and Tinley Strieker; and brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Sally Bergmann of Georgia, James Gehrs of Swansea, and Paul “Massey” (Betty) Rickhoff of Bartelso.

       

      Lucille formerly worked at Marine Garment Factory, One Stop Sundries, and Central Community High School as a cashier. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, as well as the Altar Sodality and choir. She enjoyed playing cards and games, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, and, most of all, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

       

      Due to COVID-19, the family has chosen to hold a private Graveside Service at this time, and will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.

       

      In lieu of flowers, plants, or other gifts, memorials may be made to St. Augustine Catholic Church and will be received through Moss Funeral Home, who is serving the family (535 N. 5th St., Breese, IL, 62230).
