Lucille T. “Lou” Pingsterhaus (nee Tebbe), age 83, of Germantown, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 9, 1941, in Highland, a daughter of the late Victor and Minnie (nee Gnaedinger) Tebbe.
Lou married the love of her life, Joseph Pingsterhaus, on September 19, 1961, at St. Rose Catholic Church. Together, they built a beautiful life over 63 years of marriage, raising a large and loving family while working side by side on the farm. She is also survived by her children, Tom (Ruth) Pingsterhaus of Jasper, MO, Nancy Ruppel of Dade City, FL, Anthony Pingsterhaus of Sarcoxie, MO, Lori Pingsterhaus of Germantown, Dr. Joyce (Steven) Wilson of Jefferson City, MO, and Sara (significant other, David Allen) Ard of Lakeland, FL; daughter-in-law, Bev (significant other, Jeffery Dickerson) Pingsterhaus of Shattuc; son-in-law, Allan Davis of Greenville; grandchildren, Anna (Andrew) Harpstreit, Casey (Jeffrey) Bonner, Jessica Pingsterhaus, Samantha Pingsterhaus, Jeffrey Davis, William (Sandra) Davis, Jill Gross, Cheryl Ruppel, Amy (Patrick) Bridges, Sierra Wilson, Mikayla Wilson, Alanna Wilson, Selena Wilson, Tyler Allen, and Joseph Allen; great-grandchildren, Asher Harpstreit, Eli Bonner, Charlie McCoy, Elliott, Vinnie Mae, and Anders Davis, Benjamin Drake, Cassidy Race, Patrick Bridges Jr., and Hyram Michael Bridges; siblings, Jerry Tebbe of Pierron, Albert (Marilyn) Tebbe of St. Rose, Jane (Ron) Kleiboeker of Breese, Ralph (Donna) Tebbe of St. Rose, and Martha (Delbert) Giller of Beckemeyer; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gregory (Florence) Pingsterhaus of Aviston and Pat Pingsterhaus of Dodge City, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Lou was preceded in death by her children, Daniel M. Pingsterhaus, Brenda Davis, Brian Pingsterhaus, and Joseph W. Pingsterhaus, Jr. in infancy; brother, David Tebbe; father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Agnes (nee Wellinghoff) Pingsterhaus; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Alphonse Pingsterhaus, Dorothy (Paul) Rensing, Edwin (Catherine) Pingsterhaus, Wilbert Pingsterhaus, Edward Pingsterhaus, Frances Pingsterhaus, Pauline (Dale) Holtmann, and Robert Pingsterhaus.
Lou was a woman of unwavering faith, a devoted member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and its Altar Sodality, as well as an active participant in the Clinton County Farm Bureau. A true homemaker at heart, Lou brought warmth and joy to her home, filling it with love, laughter, and the aroma of her cooking and canning. She had a passion for gardening, quilting, and puzzles, and she never missed an opportunity to support her grandchildren at their many events. Her greatest pride was her family, and she delighted in a home filled with the sounds of children.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown with Fr. Thomas Lugge presiding. Interment will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery in Germantown.
Visitation will be Friday, December 20, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and again Saturday, December 21, 2024, from 8:00 – 9:30 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Germantown.
In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to St. Boniface Parish or Mater Dei Catholic High School and will be received at the visitation or by mail, Moss Funeral Home, PO Box 117, Germantown, IL 62245, who is serving the family.
