    Mary Jane Wintermann, age 89, of Breese, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Aviston Countryside Manor.  She was born September 25, 1935, in St. Rose, a daughter of the late Edward and Sedona, nee Schulte, Liening.

     

    In addition to her parents, Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband Maurice Wintermann whom she married October 16, 1956, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Beckemeyer and he died November 14, 2009; sisters, Agnes (Lavern) Wobbe and Dorothy (Ervin) Wiese; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Wilhelmina, nee Goeckel, Wintermann; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, George Wintermann, Edwin “Fred” Wintermann, Henry (Wavian) Wintermann, Caroline (Alan) Walthes, and Robert Wintermann.

     

    Mary Jane is survived by her children, Glen (Melissa) Wintermann of Breese, Gary Wintermann of Breese, and Sandy Billhartz of Lebanon; grandchildren, Glen Wintermann II, Brittany (fiancé, John Shaver) Billhartz, Ben Adams, and Nicholas Buchholtz; sister-in-law, Mayola Wintermann of Xenia; and nieces and nephews.

     

    Mary Jane dedicated many years working in laundry services at Carlyle Healthcare Center. A member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Beckemeyer, she found great joy in her faith and community. She enjoyed playing euchre, reading, and most of all, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought her immense happiness.

     

    Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Beckemeyer with Fr. Chuck Tuttle presiding and Deacon Jay Fowler assisting.  Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery, Beckemeyer.

     

    Visitation will be Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 4:00-8:00- p.m. and again on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

     

    In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to Unity Hospice and will be received at the visitation or by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th St. Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
