    Mary Lou Mickelson, age 83, of Trenton, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Cedarhurst of Highland. She was born December 14, 1941, in California.

     

    She married Roger C. Mickelson in October of 1987, in Duluth, MN, and they shared many years together before his passing on December 25, 2024.

     

    In addition to her husband, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Reuben and Eleanor (nee Stall) Mickelson, and her brothers-in-law, Arnold Stall and Doug Lindberg.

     

    She is survived by her children, Debbie (Mick) Haakinson of Breese, Ted (Mary) Wagner of Tampa, FL, and Cathy (Alvin) Noll of St. Jacob; grandchildren, Joe Wagner, Terry (Victoria) Haakinson, Ryan Haakinson, Sarah Wagner, Adam Noll, and Brittany (Kyle) Nordmann; and great-grandchildren, Remi Wagner, Levi, Keaton, and Kaitlyn Haakinson, Kylie and Ellie Nordmann. She is also survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Avis Lindberg of Duluth, MN, Steven (Donna) Mickelson of Duluth, MN, and Bonnie (Richard) Bjark of Mahnomen, MN; and by many nieces and nephews.

     

    Mary Lou was a homemaker who found great joy in caring for her family. Alongside her husband Roger, she was actively involved in the American Legion and was a dedicated member of the New Baden American Legion Auxiliary Unit 321. She enjoyed playing bingo, shopping, going out to eat, and most of all, spending cherished time with her family. Her greatest joy came from playing with and loving her great-grandchildren.

     

    Funeral Service will be Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton with Deacon Tom Ritzheimer officiating.  Private interment will take place at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.

     

    Visitation will be Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.

     

    In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children and will be received at the visitation or by mail at Moss Funeral Home, 105 S. Main St., Trenton, IL  62293, who is serving the family.
