Michael J. “Mike” Heil 58 of Trenton died Friday April 18, 2014 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese.

He was born September 1, 1955 in East St. Louis to Joseph Heil and Camille (Bohnak) Gaines: they preceded him in death.

Also preceded in death by a step father Robert Gaines, father-in-law Andrew “Red” Drees, sister-in-law Mary Jo Baumgartner, brother-in-law Marvin “Pop” Netemeyer, nephews Jason Niemann, Randy Ruth.

He married Jane Drees November 3, 1990 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Trenton and she survives in Trenton.

Also surviving is his daughter Kathy Heil of Trenton.

Many nieces and nephews

Mike retired after 37 years from the Belleville News Democrat. He enjoyed living in the country, traveling and driving. He especially enjoyed being part of the October week end get-away club.

Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday April 22, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton with Fr. Joseph Rascher officiating. Interment St. Mary Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday April 21 from 4 to 8 PM and Tuesday April 22 from 8:00 am to 9: 45 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.

Memorials can be made to his daughter’s college educational fund and will be received at the funeral home.
