      Nancy L Moorhead, age 84, of Trenton and formerly of Summerfield, a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2020 peacefully at her home with her family at her side.

       

      She was born Feb 28, 1936 in Manhattan KS, the daughter of the late Jim and Ruth, nee Gillilan, Hanlin.

       

      In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Thornly “Thorny” Moorhead; and siblings, Larry Hanlin and Arlene (Bill) Smith.

       

      Surviving are her children, Sharon (Steve) Wheeler of Lebanon and Kevin (Karmin) Moorhead of Trenton; grandchildren, Jason (Erica) Moorhead, Amy (Christopher) Linder, Kami Moorhead, Alesya Moorhead-Wheeler, Andrea (Wesley) Freezeland, and Eric Wheeler; great-grandchildren, Archie Moorhead, Grace, Jack, and James Linder, Emilia, Lilith, and Evelynn Freezeland; sister Virginia (Don) Hoernke of Waterford WI; and sister-in-law, Maxine (Randy) Rogers of Peel, AR.

       

      Mom had a life-long devotion to her family and friends. Mom was a military wife for 20 years traveling to 7 different military bases over the years from Hawaii to Germany.   When Thornly retired from the Air Force they moved to Summerfield, IL and mom worked in St. Louis until retirement. Mom loved to read, play cards and travel with family and friends.  She also loved being the life of a party and was always ready to help no matter the task.

       

      Nancy was Aunt Wonderful to nephews and nieces, a tile that she wore proudly.

       

      Her family was the center of her universe and she was so proud of each and every one of them.

       

      She loved to brag about her kids and grandkids. Rest in Peace Mom we love you and will miss you.

       

      A private memorial service will be held for both Nancy and Thornly.

       

      In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials, may be made to the Lebanon First United Methodist Church and will be received through Moss Funeral Home, 105 S. Main, Trenton, IL 62293 who is serving the Moorhead family.
