      Odelia A. Seger, age 103, of Summerfield, born April 2, 1913 in Lebanon TWP, to the late Joseph and Nellie, nee Persbacher, Monken, died Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Memorial Hospital East in Shiloh.
      In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Louis Schempp whom she married in 1938 in Summerfield and he died March 15, 1983; her second husband, Lorraine Seger, whom she married April 28, 1984 in Summerfield and he died December 5, 1984; a grandson, Ronald Schempp; great-granddaughters, Samantha Townley and Ashley Eisel; and brothers, Merle Monken and Ralph Monken.
      Surviving are her children, Ralph (Sue) Schempp of Troy and Jonelda “Jo” Townley of Summerfield; 4 grandchildren, Jason Schempp, Renee Eisel, Carl Townley, and Kathi (Greg) Mann; 4 great-grandchildren, Donielle Eisel, Noah Schempp, Corey Mann, and Jared Mann; 1 great-great-granddaughter, Courtney Mann; 3 step-grandchildren, Renee (Ron) Dodge, Michele (Brett) Colligan, and Vickie (Mike) Hellmann; and 6 step-great-grandchildren, Dustin Stone, Dawson Venier, Holly Hellmann, Heather Hellmann, Dylain Colligan, and Kaitlyn Colligan.
      Odelia along with her husband Louis, formerly owned and operated Schempp’s IGA in O’Fallon for 17 years and later was a homemaker.
      She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Summerfield where she formerly served as the church council treasurer and cemetery association secretary.
      In keeping with her wishes, Mrs. Seger donated her body to Washington University in St. Louis and a Memorial Service will be held, Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Summerfield with a luncheon to follow.
      Memorials may be made to St. John’s United Church of Christ and will be received through Moss Funeral Home, 105 S. Main, Trenton, IL 62293 who is serving the family.
