Regina C. Emig, age 90 of Bartelso, born September 21, 1925 in Breese TWP, a daughter of the late Henry and Louisa, nee Schleper, Pingsterhaus, died Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Carlyle Healthcare Center.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred Emig, whom she married April 16, 1947 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese, and he died August 25, 2008; a grandson, Christopher Emig; siblings, Quinton Pingsterhaus, Loretta Pingsterhaus, Raymond Pingsterhaus, Cecilia Buss, and Alvin Pingsterhaus; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gregor Buss, Marcellus Ottensmeier, Oliver and Bernadine Emig, Gualberd and Clara Emig, Severin and Marie Emig, Marie and Aloysius Helldorfer.

Surviving are her children, James (Dee) Emig of Bartelso, Judy (Cliff) Goestenkors of Damiansville, Alan (Stacey) Emig of Bartelso, and Ruth (John) Kauling of Carlyle; grandchildren, Lindsey (Mark) Kuhls, Amanda (friend Brandon Ratermann) Emig, Bailey (friend Alissa Koch) Emig, Cory (Andra) Goestenkors, Kara (Ryan) Voss, Ryan (Ashley) Goestenkors, Logan Emig, Teal (friend James Guithues, Jr.) Kauling, and Brandon Kauling; great-grandchildren, Mason and Maddox Kuhls, Trigg, Tucker, and Levi Goestenkors, Sophia and Farrah Voss; siblings, Rosina (George) Hollenkamp of Aviston, Ralph Pingsterhaus of Breese, and Rita Ottensmeier of Trenton; and a sister-in-law, Imelda Pingsterhaus of Beckemeyer.

Regina was a homemaker and a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church and Altar Sodality in Bartelso. She enjoyed canning, baking, gardening, quilting, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Bartelso with Fr. James Buerster presiding. Interment will follow in St. Cecilia Cemetery, Bartelso.

Visitation will be Monday, August 8, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
