    Richard F. “Dick” Anthony, age 94, formerly of Breese, died Friday, May 25, 2018 at Liberty Village Skilled Nursing Center in Maryville.

     

    Mr. Anthony was born November 24, 1923 in Oneida, NY, a son of the late Richard Norbert and Flora Marie, nee Haenlin, Anthony.

     

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Katherine, nee Hawley, Anthony and Aurilla M., nee Counihan, Anthony; a daughter, Susan Elizabeth Anthony; and siblings, Donald Edward, Rita Mae (Sr. Richard Anne), Elizabeth Barbara, Nancy Marie, Florence Leona, and Ellen Virginia.

     

    Surviving are his children, Gail (David) Reese of Henderson, NV, Richard (Eileen) Anthony, Jr. of Rome, GA, Karen (Timothy) Jennings of Kansas City, MO, Edward (Angela) Anthony of Robins, IA, and Patricia Hayes of Collinsville; grandchildren, Andrea (Barry) Gibson, Jeremy (Katie) Anthony, Janeen (Albert) Yang, Jacleen Anthony, Faith Trammell, Stephanie Anthony, James Anthony, Katherine Anthony, Emily Jennings, and Zander Hayes; great-grandchildren, Julia Anthony, Patrick Yang, Erin Yang, Cayden Trammell, Noah Trammell; and siblings, Mary Marshall of Oneida, NY and Peggy (Bill) Gourley of Omaha, NE.

     

    Dick was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp and retired from Radar Maintenance at Air Force Communication Service (AFCS). He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese, VFW Life Member Post 6811 in Verona, NY, American Legion Post 252, Breese, IL, National Rifle Association Master and Life Member, and the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). He enjoyed RC controlled planes, hunting, fishing, camping, boating, and shooting.

     

    Memorial Mass will be Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Patrick Peter and Deacon Linus Klostermann presiding. Burial of the cremains will take place at a later date in St. Francis Cemetery, Durhamville, NY.

     

    Visitation will be Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

     

    Memorials may be made to Vitas Hospice or to St. Dominic Catholic Church and will be received at the funeral home.
